LIFE

LIFE

Written by Uglyskelly

When the base universe was finally established after Void, Order, Time, and Eternity were created, everything was in harmony; an existence of solar systems and asteroids devoid of anything. Despite this, The Architect observed a problem, ungraspable by the other primordials. This problem was one that, no matter how intelligent or how long they lived, no other being would ever understand. The universe was at a slow rotation being observed by nothing other than the primordials. In essence, it was nothing. The Architect saw great potential for expansion beyond planets decaying and rebirthing forever. A step beyond this endless entropy. The Architect glimpsed upon an inversion of the void from which they came. The Architect cogitated. What felt like eons passed, until finally, The Architect came to an epiphany, almost weeping at their conclusion. The Architect reached into their own mind, pinched their fingers together, and plucked a part of their consciousness out. This part of The Architect’s consciousness, outside of their limitless body, grew so large and overbearing that it formed a shard of pure creation. The physical appearance of this shard could be closest described to an orb of limitless glowing power.

At once several suns detonated and formed supernovas, releasing carbon and oxygen compounds across the universe, forming primal life in its wake. Bacteria, single-celled organisms, and the shapes that would one day evolve. For centuries Life’s physical form remained of a simple sphere devoid of any sentience, but as Life changed and developed, Life’s body molded in accordance. Eventually, organisms with sentience developed and Life finally awoke. Mind fused with the universe’s first sentience and magnified infinitely by The Architect’s shard, Life understood everything. Despite the infinite capacity represented by Life’s deep mind, it was dedicated to the very thought that willed it into being: ‘growth’

“Yes.” Life said. “I shall take this charge.”

Personality: With Life, they practically introduced mortal concepts and emotions. Seeing as Life derived a part of their mind from the freshly introduced sentience, They embody what we would consider to be typical emotions (and physical traits). Despite this, Life’s existence in and of itself requires a different level of responsibility that’s frequently overlooked by the other primordials. Knowing this separation, Life feels an infinitely strong kinship between everything and themselves. In the same way a farmer creates husbandry with their cattle, so too does Life with all mortal kind. For now, Life doesn’t necessarily have any desired goals outside of performing the task assigned to them by The Architect. Life’s activities have still remained the same even after The Architect's transformation into the wheel.  Additionally, it’s unknown by any of the primordials that Life bears a shard of The Architect’s mind, not even Life knows. This gives Life insight into the very original creation of the universe and magnifies their conscience beyond all, which leads to Life being regarded as “distant” and “spacey” by the other Primordials. It was only through Chaos’s cunning that it could convince Life to battle with The Architect.

Physical appearance: When Life first gained consciousness, they automatically assumed the form of a humanoid. This was simply in accordance with the most advanced form at the time. Nevertheless, when interacting with anything, Life assumes those physical traits. When simply existing, Life will choose the form of a human woman simply because it feels most comfortable. Life is the only primordial who has ever actively intervened in a universe, but the exact way that they did so is unknown by the other primordials.

Life’s relationship with each of the primordials

Void: Life doesn’t really have any need for an interaction with The Void. However, Life still understands The Void’s perspective and conscience. Even though Void doesn’t display their dynamic towards anyone other than time, the other primordials can’t fully read Void. Yet because Life has an extremely developed mind, they can partly comprehend Void’s views. Most would have some degree of negative opinion if they knew someone viewed them so low, but Life’s mind is so highly advanced they’re nearly incapable. Since Life sees that Void is incapable of realizing the beauty of life, they simply feel an immense pity towards them, but hides it in case it’s perceived as offensive.

Order: While Life does generally wish for the actions of their creations to be uncontrolled or not limited, Life also understands the value and structure that defines them against chaos. Life has described their relationship as “a necessary pain, like the growth of a child going through puberty.”

Eternity: Life believes in entropy, and the growth and loss of all things. The very concept of eternity is something that Life does not wish to trifle with. As a result, Life and Eternity rarely interact.

Time: Life understands that for the universe to function and for existence to be animated, Time needs to exist. Knowing that their presence is kept functional by Time, they have a deep respect for them. Time and Life commonly confer with each other, and Time has commented that Life is the only other primordial who “understands their mind.”

Fate/The Creator: Unlike literally everyone else in the universe, Fate is the only one where Life doesn’t view them as a child. Life, in fact, views Fate as an equal, even though Life wouldn’t be able to say why. Both view each other with respect. Prior to Fate becoming The Creator, Life believed Fate was misguided, and thought that existence was not to be pre-determined. Their opinion has since changed.

Death: In comparison to the other primordials, Life has specific relationship with Death. Death’s existence, by nature, revolves around Life. Because of this, Life views death lower than all other primordials, almost like an infant. Despite their need for communication to function in harmony, Life views themselves as a boss over Death and doesn’t listen or consider the perspective of them. Life views their task as a growth that continuously expands older and weaker parts important, whereas they view Death’s role of shaving unnecessarily. It is rare for the two to see eye to eye on almost any subject, but when they do it is considered a “necessary moment” for all of the primordials to observe.

Destiny: Life originally enjoyed Destiny’s behavior, believing in the power of all things to pursue a path. The concept of will was important to Life, and Destiny assisted them along that path. When Destiny fell to Chaos, they tempted Life to join them, but Life initially refused. It was only through Destiny’s forceful coercion that Life fell to Chaos. When Destiny was obliterated by The Wheel, Life felt the fragment that would eventually become Darwizzy emerge. They chose not to destroy that fragment. For what reason, even Life does not know.
